Fleabag graciously bowed out of our lives today with the final installment of Phoebe Waller-Bridges insanely perfect second series.

We waited three long years for the shows follow-up season and my God did it go above and beyond, both by way of acting and writing, and the closing chapter was no different.

The last episode saw Godmother (Olivia Colman) exchange nuptials with Dad (Bill Paterson), aka the love of her life, with Andrew Scotts Sexy Priest stealing all our attentions and upstaging the bride in his striking cassock.

He warned us his costume would blow our f***ing minds, and this rings true for the ending too. Yes, it really was the perfect send-off, not solely because of the Priest but because Claire (Sian Clifford) did the right thing by chucking her toxic husband Martin (Brett Gelman), allowing us to collectively breathe a sigh of relief and shout good riddance at our screens.

Were not sure the series finale could be more perfect (Picture: BBC)

It was the final scene that left us all crying happy tears though, as all the loose ends were tied up.

Phoebe nailed the emotionally satisfying ending and The Big Bang Theory producers, who are still struggling to piece together theirs, should take as many notes as humanly possible.

As Fleabag broke the fourth wall for the last time, the familiar epiphanic chorals didnt chime in like clockwork, but instead we had Alabama Shakes telling us that her, and her Godmothers sculpture, are going to be just fine.

Fleabag will be heralded triumphant for decades to come, not just for its dark comedy and novelty guinea pig cafe, but for its frank discussions surrounding sex and raw narratives surrounding grief and miscarriage.

Thank you, Phoebe (Picture: BBC)

The series has been packed with exceptional monologues, whether it be Kristin Scott Thomas speech on female pain to Fleabags on point statement about hair being everything in episode four, the writing really is like no other.

Phoebes promiscuous title character has been a breath of fresh air on UK television screens, as she executes sex with no frills. If Fleabag has an itch that needs scratching, shell find the man to do the job regardless as to whether the job is done well or not.

Shes been on a journey beyond the bedroom this series too, throwing us back to looking incredible at her mums funeral, doing the dirty in a confessional, and punching her brother-in-law over a spot of dinner, leaving behind an incredible legacy and big gold trainers for comics to fill.
