Uncle, 39, who fathered child with niece, 18, shoots her dead

A 39-year-old man who had a child with his 18 year-old niece killed her and his estranged teen daughter, police say.

Abdool Zaman was charged with two counts of capital murder on Tuesday for gunning down his niece and the mother of his child, Leona Samlall. He also stands accused of killing his daughter, Vanessa Zaman, 18.

Zaman reportedly confronted the pair at a Highland Springs, Virginia and shot them in a fit of rage in December 2018.

Samlall, whose mother was married to Zamans brother, had a three-month-old child with Abdool Zaman and the two had been dating, People reports.

Vanessa Zaman grew up without knowing her father, but tracked him down when she turned 18 and moved in with him.

Even after telling her countless times that he was not a good person, she still went ahead and moved in with him, her mother, Saveeta Barnes wrote on a GoFundMe page.

When Vanessa moved in with her dad, he was living with Samlall in Orlando with their child.

She became worried about Samlalls safety after she witnessed her father abusing her, Barnes said, and helped her move out into her mothers home in Virginia.

They had both been in Virginia for only a week before they were killed. A medical examiner ruled that both teens died from gunshot wounds to the head.

Vanessa tried to protect her and an innocent baby. Vanessa was protecting 2 other souls, her mother said.
