It really is rather hard finding a picture to celebrate a friend on their birthday.

And so it appears the White House had quite the struggle choosing one for Melania Trumps 49th birthday on Friday.

They opted for a bizarre photo of the First Lady surrounded by reporters and photographers.

Were not too sure what they wanted to convey with the picture, but some on Twitter asked why she was all alone on her birthday.

Although, you cant criticise Mrs Trump for not keeping her composure in front of all the cameras – she looks cool as a cucumber.

Maybe not the best picture for birthday celebrations.

Interestingly, in the middle of the picture was CNN reporter Jim Acosta, who was briefly banned from the White House at the end of last year after the President accused him of being fake news when he questioned him on allegations of racism.

Needless to say, Twitter exploded at the image, and a number of memes have sprung up in its wake.

Many people decided to fill the empty space on the sofa with a number of characters, including Vladimir Putin and Donald himself.
