Elton John’s ex-fiance reveals he broke up with her at 4am and he’s now completely erased her from Rocketman

Elton John’s ex-fiance has spoken out after being completely snubbed from the singer’s life story in new biopic, Rocketman.
Linda Hannon, who believes Elton’s song Someone Saved My Life Tonight is based on their relationship and break-up, spoke to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain from Dallas, Texas.
‘Sometimes I wonder if he’s forgotten about me,’ she admitted. ‘I mean, it was a long time ago and he’s such a super star now, I was way, way back in his past. I hope he hasn’t forgotten about me, but I’m disappointed I’m not in the movie.’

Elton and Linda were initially engaged to be married in the 70s, after meeting at one of his shows.
Always referring to him as Reg – Elton’s birth name – Linda revealed she moved from Sheffield to London to be with him and had no idea that he was gay when they got engaged.
‘The relationship was going smooth, we just kind of decided…I think everything happened very quickly. We decided to get married, we went and we found a flat in Mill Hill, bought furniture for it,’ she explained.
‘I went off to the antique store and bought myself an engagement ring, neither he nor Bernie [Taupin] had any money so I was kind of having to support them.
‘His mother had ordered the wedding cake, and it’s true what the song says – he did come back at four in the morning, and tell me it was over.’
When pressed by Susanna, Linda confessed she was heartbroken and said: ‘Yes. I was kind of devastated because we planned so much for the wedding and then all of a sudden he says “sorry, it’s all over”.’
That evening, he stayed the night in Bernie’s room, and the next morning both Elton and his long-time writing partner moved out.
‘That was the last time I’d ever see Reg,’ Linda added.

Elton later went on to marry German sound engineer Renate Blauel in 1984 – which ended in 1988 when he came out as gay.

Linda now lives in Dallas, Texas and despite everything, she admits that she would like to touch base with him again.
‘I would very much so [like to see him again]. I don’t know what I would say to him, but I would like to see him,’ Linda said.
