Simon Cowell gave Britains Got Talent viewers a right laugh tonight when he ironically described Chapter 13s performance as manufactured, despite him quite literally manufacturing bands like One Direction and Little Mix on his other talent shows.
The 59-year-old judge gave his two cents on Chapter 13s performance during the semi-finals on Wednesday evening, and said that part of it felt manufactured.
After being pressed for his thoughts by hosts Ant and Dec, Simon started off with the positive and said: That was a million times better than the first audition because it was a track I believe you would want to make in the real world. The VTs showed your personalities…
He then added: Personally I would have lost the end part because, you know, it all felt a little bit manufactured.
The judge continued: To be [truthful] you dont need that, all you need is you, the amps, the musicians, your personalities, your talent.

Tonight is so much better than the first two shows weve done overall. Right now there are two or three acts who could and should be in the final, and youre one of them. I actually care, I really do care right now about you and the others so this is going to be a very difficult choice. But you did great tonight.
Viewers thought Simons comments were a little close to home, with one stating: Can I also say. Simon Cowll called the boy band manufactured but the acts under his record label are more manufactured than anyone in the industry [sic].
Agreeing with this, another viewer chimed in: What you on about Simon your middle name is manufactured.
Giving Simon an interesting new nickname, another said: It all felt a bit manufactured says the King of manufacturing bands.
