Gunfire rang out inside a crowded Costco store in Corona on Friday night, prompting a huge police response and causing panic among terrified shoppers and employees, many of whom fled outside or huddled inside the store. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire, possibly as many as seven shots, but there was no immediate report from authorities on injuries, suspects or what may have prompted the apparent violence. Reports of shots fired near the location at 480 N McKinley Street spread on social media just after 8 p.m. Aurtis Wilson said he heard two people arguing near the store?s produce section. ?And the next thing I know I hear seven shots.? he said in an interview outside the store. The retired Marine said he grabbed his wife and adult daughter and, like others in the crowded store, ran. As he ran, he saw the shooter firing at several people. ?This is crazy,? he said. The Corona Police Department said on Twitter that the scene was stabilized as of 9:09 p.m. It said there was no apparent threat to the community from any outstanding people. Will Lungo, 45, of Corona, said he and his wife were near the refrigerated produce and alcohol sections when he heard gunshots.

One person has been killed in a shooting inside a Costco store in Southern California.

Two others have been injured, including an off-duty officer, police have said.

It is believed the shooting stemmed from an argument inside the Corona store shortly before 7.45pm on Friday June 14.

As of yet, the relationship between the attacker and the victims is still unclear.

A man has now been arrested and hospitalised, officers from Corona Police confirmed.
