The Avengers will assemble one more time on the big screen. Kevin Feige has confirmed that Avengers: Endgame will return to theaters with a new post-credits scene on June 28—and although the re-release will not be an extended cut, Feige promised a few other tantalizing changes.

“Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push, with a few new things at the end of the movie,” Feige told Screen Rant. “If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits therell be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend.”

As Screen Rant notes, the timing of the re-release, just days ahead of Spider-Man: Far From Homes debut, seems pragmatic—especially since the upcoming film will look past Endgames story line, as Peter Parker continues to grieve the late Tony Stark. (Er—spoiler alert?) Beyond boosting Far From Home, this re-release may also boost Endgame enough that the superhero mash-up movie can surpass Avatars record take to officially become the highest-grossing film of all time. (That does, however, seem a bit unlikely, as Screen Rant notes that Avatars own re-release reached less than $11 million; Endgame will need to net closer to $45 million to beat Avatar.)

Regardless of how Endgames encore performs, the upcoming month will be a big one for the larger Disney umbrella; Pixar will release Toy Story 4 this weekend, and The Lion Kings release is now exactly a month away. And while some of Disneys live-action remakes have disappointed at the box office—sorry, DumboAladdins successful premiere seems to hint that The Lion King will turn in a solid performance as well. (Both films command a larger contemporary fan base than Dumbo, and both come with enough weirdness to generate curiosity. For Aladdin, it was blue Will Smith; for The Lion King, it will be finding out how one makes “live-action” lions talk in a way that doesnt seem silly. Also, lion Beyoncé.) That said, were guessing Marvel still has its fingers crossed for Endgame.
