It might not have been the biggest hit with critics, but Adam Sandler -Jennifer Aniston comedy Murder Mystery has made up for it by becoming a record-breaking hit with viewers.
The streaming service has confirmed that Murder Mystery – which dropped last weekend – scored the biggest ever opening weekend for a Netflix movie, being watched over 30m times.
Taking to Twitter they said: 30,869,863 accounts watched Murder Mystery in its first 3 days – the biggest opening weekend ever for a Netflix Film.
They went on to explain that 13,374,914 of those came from viewers in the US and Canada, with 17,494,949 watching worldwide.

What is Murder Mystery about?
Murder Mystery centres on Nick and Audrey Spitz (Sandler and Aniston), a couple who go away on a European trip for their 15th wedding anniversary, in a bid to try and reignite the spark in their marriage.

While en route they meet a billionaire who invites them to join him on his familys yacht – but the jaunt goes awry when one of the guests, Malcolm Quince is murdered – and the finger of suspicion points at Nick and Audrey.
All of which leaves the pair having to play detective to unmask the real culprit – while also trying to keep themselves out of danger.
Who is in the cast of Murder Mystery?
As well as Sandler and Aniston there are a few familiar faces in this one.
British actor Luke Evans (Beauty And The Beast) plays billionaire Charles Cavendish, while Gemma Arterton is also on board as actress Grace Ballard.
