Distraught parents watched in horror as their daughter was killed in a shark attack while snorkeling on holiday.
Jordan Lindsey, 21, was swimming in the Bahamas when three sharks tore her right arm off and bit into both her legs.
The predators also bit her left arm and buttocks before rescuers were able to get her to shore.
Her parents said they saw the predators swimming towards their daughter and began yelling to warn her but were too late and could do nothing as the student from California died.
KABC-TV reports that other family members were also present at the time of the attack.
Her father Michael Lindsey released a statement to ABC news that read: Jordan was 21 and such a great daughter and person.
We already miss her terribly.
Jordan was transported to hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to police.

A letter from her university, the Loyola Marymount University (LMU), was sent to students to inform them of her tragic death.
It described her as a devoted animal lover and climate change advocate who had transferred from LMU and worked as a communications assistant.
She was also a student researcher with CURE, LMUs Center for Urban Resilience.
The letter added: I am saddened to share that Jordan Lindsey, a communication studies major, died on June 26, 2019. She was 21 years old.
A State Department spokesperson confirmed her death following the attack and the Department of Fisheries is scheduled to assess the area to determine if the water is safe.
