Gentleman Jack episode 7: Whats Anne Lister up to (and 5 other questions ahead of next weeks finale)

So our star-crossed lovers have been torn apart for the latest episode of Gentleman Jack, but with only one episode remaining, its only a matter of time before theyre back together.

But theres a lot of people getting in the way of their happiness, and the nasty side to a lot of their foes have begun to bubble to the surface.

A lot of questions remain unanswered, and as we know, a second instalment of the drama has been given the green light, so theyre not going to tell us everything we want by the time the curtains go down next week.

But the final episode is sure to be a nail-biter, with some mysterious characters on the sidelines of Anne Listers life yet to reveal their cause. So whats to come?

Whats going to become of Ann Walker?

Poor Ann. She really is being flung about like a rag doll by anyone and everyone who knows her, and her mental health reached breaking point.

Dragged up to Scotland, she is clearly absolutely miserable, made worse by the incessant pushing from her sisters husband to entertain the idea of marrying the Sutherland nephew, even though hes terrible with money and she doesnt want to.

In a sense of belonging to her husband, Walkers sister does nothing but make the situation worse, even through the guilt she feels about what its doing to Walker.

But with her mental health and her last lifeline – Lister – gone, she takes matters into her own hands, cutting her wrists.

Whether its a true suicide attempt or not remains to be seen, but Walkers in a bad way, and we have a feeling theres only one person able to fix her.

How bad is Rawson going to get?

Rawsons power hungry struggle against Lister met an intense level this episode as the pair finally aired out exactly what they thought of each other after tip-toeing around it for so long.

Going after Listers sister Marian in public was a low blow, but was effective in unsettling Lister long enough to have her bend to his will.

Desperate to one-up him, Lister has now entered a dangerous territory that could doom her familys home of Shibden Hall in the process.

If that is the case, where are they going to live and what are they going to do?

She had only just promised Marian that their home was safe, and now shes thrown it up for collateral.

Disappearing to France with little to no warning will not set her mind at ease either. We worry that she might be about to lose this battle.

Who is the new groomsman?

And more importantly, why on Earth does Eugenie have such a huge problem with him? He seemed to make quite an impression with Marian, and even Anne seemed somewhat warm to him.

But for whatever reason, away from the screen, he and Eugenie are clashing in a major way, to the point the troubled made said dealing with him is like banging her head against a brick wall.

So why exactly has this man been introduced into a series with only one episode to go?

And even more so, why is he being so cruel to Eugenie?
