The woman who has been known only as Emily Doe after she was sexually assaulted by Brock Turner has revealed her identity.
Chanel Miller has come forward as her memoir, Know My Name, is set to be released on September 24.
Her case became a contentious national topic after Turner, a then 20-year-old college swimmer, was sentenced to just six months jail in 2016 for assaulting Miller outside a fraternity party at Stanford University
A jury found Turner guilty of assaulting Miller while she was incapacitated by alcohol in January 2015. An emotional victim impact statement Miller read at his sentencing sparked outrage, serving as a rallying cry for victims of sexual abuse.
Miller wrote directly to her attacker, saying: You dont know me, but youve been inside me, and thats why were here today.

Judge Aaron Persky, who imposed the sentence, was recalled by voters in 2018. He was the first judge to be recalled in California since 1932.
Turner was released from jail after three months.
