Strictly Come Dancing kicks off this weekend, officially marking the end of the summer and welcoming in the stellar new line-up. But it turns out getting to the dancefloor in the first place is actually way more brutal than we realised.

Among the latest Strictly cast hoping to lift the Glitterball trophy come Christmas is Chris Ramsey, who appeared on Lorraine today revealing the audition process is just like a movie, and you have to earn your place in the contest way before youve even donned a single sequin.

Id never considered doing it, Chris admitted to Lorraine Kelly. They said, “Do you want to come for a chat?” And I thought, “Yeah, I could be up for it.”

You go for a practise dance – imagine an audition for a film or something – so you go and have a dance, the execs are there watching you. Im not joking, I left and I phoned my management and said, “Get me on this show.” I really wanted to do it.

Chris is happily married to Rosie Winter, who is also his co-star on their podcast together, Sh*gged Married Annoyed – which, FYI, is currently the number one podcast in the country.

Naturally, Lorraine grilled Chris about the curse, which, whatever the stars say, rears its ugly head every single year.

Weve joked about the curse completely, he grinned. Everyone says about the Strictly curse, but weve been together for seven years been married for five – more importantly, weve got the top podcast n the UK so if you think were jeopardising that!

Last weekend Chris discovered who hed be waltzing through the winter months with, and this Saturday well find out the full couplings at the Strictly launch.
