A contender for the accolade of biggest Game of Thrones stan ever has emerged.

Sean McBride, from Northern Ireland, makes a compelling case with the title after his latest purchase: a tree famously featured in the hit show.

Sean bought the tree from Dark Hedges avenue after a storm knocked it down, paying thousands of pounds for the privilege.

Sean hauled his yield home with help of sons Gerald and Daniel (pictured below).

Sean apparently became obsessed on the show after parts of it were filmed on his land in Ballycastle, County Antrim.

Dark Hedges have become a popular set-jetting destination for fans of the HBO show, which starred Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington.

It featured in season two, episode one (On the Kings Road) of the show.
