David Walliams talks humiliation and risk for returning Britains Got Talent winners

Theres only one UK act in the Britains Got Talent: The Champions finale so far, but judge David Walliams isnt embarrassed.
In Saturdays shocking elimination, comedian Lost Voice Guy—real name Lee Ridley—lost to Italian Antonio Sorgentone, and Americas Got Talent winner Paul Zerdin.
Of the UK entries, only dance troupe MerseyGirls, who first competed in 2017, have earned a spot in the grand final.
I think theres a risk because youre a winner already, arent you? Walliams said of acts who decide to return.
But then I think the show is warm, and even if you dont necessarily get through to the final, its not a humiliation is it?
Its just the audience has voted for someone else, so hopefully no one will come away feeling like, “Oh I regret it”.

Other UK acts booted from the international best-of competition include dog trainer Ashleigh Butler and tenor Paul Potts. Ventriloquist Zerdin was born in London but is representing the American series.
Judge Alesha Dixon was clearly shocked after it was revealed Ridley didnt make it through, exclaiming: Lost Voice Guy didnt make it into the top three!
Wearing a shirt saying Im only in it for the parking, the disabled comedian was chauffeured onstage in a sparkling mobility scooter.
Ridley poked fun at his newfound celebrity and teased Simon Cowell about plastic surgery.

Despite the eliminations of so many British acts, Walliams thinks viewers have enjoyed seeing some of the series most popular contestants back on the Britains Got Talent stage.
They include MerseyGirls Julia Carlile, whose scoliosis threatened to end her dancing career before Simon Cowell paid for her life-changing £175,000 surgery.

Walliams said: Its kind of interesting to follow up on peoples stories.
You realise the show has been going on 13 years so you see people like Connie Talbot and Paul Potts who were on the very first series and we get to find out how the show has changed their lives.
