Treasure Island with Bear Grylls left viewers shocked as Prince Philips cousin Lord Mountbatten decided to hide £35,000 from his campmates.

And viewers at home were fuming over his snakey antics.

The survival show kicked off with 12 contestants marooned on an island, forced to hunt for their own food and water, as well as searching for £100,000 left somewhere in the area.

But Lord Ivar Mountbatten, 55, and 30-year-old marine Marco showed their true colours just half an hour into the first episode, when they stumbled across a box containing £15,000.

As you do.

I was just thinking whether I was too f***ing quick to tell him Id seen it, Prince Philips first cousin (once removed) joked. [If I was] clever I wouldve just pushed him off the cliff.

You know he can hear you, hun? And there are TV cameras everywhere….

Its much better to share…., he quickly added.

They could then be seen counting the £15,000 out, as Marco asked: What the f**k do we do now? Are we keeping it? F**k my wet damp boots. What do we do with it? Right, were splitting it.

If we find more, we can start trickling it to the others…

Were doing the right thing, because we might find a lot more, and we can share that.

Ivar didnt take much convincing, telling his new best friend: Jesus… Okay. I feel really naughty.

Speaking to the camera, the Lord explained he was persuaded into hiding the dosh from his co-stars.

He didnt need to be persuaded that much…

Having said, by the word go, that we should split the money, Ive been persuaded that perhaps we should keep it, Ivar insisted. Ive gone with the flow and it seems its quite exciting. We can still divide it if we want to, but the likelihood is, were not going to.

And it was a case of second time lucky for the pair, who later stumbled across a further £20,000, in another box.

Seriously, guys?

But, despite the pair quite literally living their best lives and earning a whopping £17,500 each just for wandering around in the woods, viewers at home were disgusted by their antics.

Flocking to Twitter, a fan commented: This p***k pleading poverty at the beginning, announces his daughter school fees are £7,500k… He hasnt got a clue what having no money means.
