Kellie Maloney feared ruining her childrens lives when she transitioned.
Kellie, who was formerly known as Frank, spoke about the dark time when she attempted to take her own life.
Appearing on Loose Women, she said: When I transitioned I was happy. What I was doing was comparing my life as Frank to life now. I had no regrets.
Kellie is who I am, it was who I was but kept it locked up. I was comparing the two lifestyles. As Frank I lived an exciting life, but Kellie is always much happier than Frank.

The moment came after she returned home from a trip to Portugal where she began drinking heavily to keep up with some new people she met there.
Kellie said: I went to a restaurant and started drinking. I went to bed, I had a friend staying with me, I was in bed and picked up my phone and looked through pictures of myself as Frank, and I thought, “Have I messed up my childrens lives?”
I had a moment of insanity I would say, because at that point youre actually insane. I started taking all these different pills and drinking wine from the bottle.
I ran out of wine, [my friend] must have heard me, because she stood behind me. I picked up a bottle and went to the dog to say goodbye. I turned to walk back and passed out and I woke up in hospital.
After a stay in a psychiatric hospital and support from her daughter Emma, Kellie is in a much better place having moved house.

She also own a smallholding which includes two goats that, Kellie joked, have gender issues.
After initially being told one was male and one was female, it turned out that they were both female goats.
