World has rejected Pakistans bid to politicise J&K issue: MEA

NEW DELHI: After Pakistan claimed to be speaking on behalf of many countries at UNHRC on the situation in J&K, India on Thursday reiterated that Islamabads campaign was based on lies and that its attempts to polarise and politicise the Kashmir issue had been rejected.
“It is quite audacious on the part of Pakistan that the country which is harbouring terrorists, which is the epicentre of terrorism, is pretending to speak on behalf of the global community on human rights,” said MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar. “Pakistans attempts to polarise and politicise the Kashmir issue at the UNHRC have been rejected,” he said.
“Their record of persecution of minorities, both ethnic and religious, I dont need to amplify…the credibility of the messenger here is highly suspect. This is something which the global community is aware of,” he added.
He said repeating a lie four or five times does not turn it into a “gospel truth” adding that the global community was aware of Pakistans role in aiding, abetting and supporting terrorist infrastructure which they have in their country.
According to agency reports from Geneva, MEA secretary (east) Vijay Thakur Singh met UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet to discuss with her Pakistans attempts to fan trouble in the valley through cross-border terrorism. “We discussed the situation in Kashmir.Original Article
