Kate Lawler has been praised for opening up about not wanting children, during a stint on Loose Women.

The Big Brother winner appeared on the ITV show in an attempt to break the stigma surrounding women who dont want to start a family, explaining she has been judged for her decision in the past.

And the 39-year-old, who is engaged to fiancé Martin (Boj), revealed it previously left her wondering if there was something wrong with her.

Im 40 next year, were getting married and I feel, “Should I be having a baby?” but the problem is, not all women want to have children, she told the panel.

Maternal ambivalence is on the rise, more women are freezing their eggs, choosing a career over motherhood, and I think thats because women are finally being true to themselves and doing whats right for them instead of what society tells them to do.

You get judged if you say you dont want children.

Kate explained she hasnt looked into freezing her eggs, revealing Boj really wants to start a family, and assumed she would change her mind at some point during their relationship.

He really does [want a baby]. We do have differing views, she continued. Its really tricky because weve been together for six years and I think he thought Id eventually change my mind…

Ive never had a loud biological clock ticking, it comes with all kinds of emotions, its quite a complicated feeling to have, because some days Ill be like, “Whats wrong with me? I should be feeling I want kids, Im 39.”

When Gloria Hunniford asked whether she would ever want to give her beau a child if she loved him that much, Kate insisted this was something she would never consider.

Ive always felt I wasnt going to be a mum to children. Since I was 18 Ive always been saying Im not going to have kids, she added.

I cant just have a baby because Bodge wants to have a baby, I have to want it myself. My biggest fear is having a baby I was pressurised into having.

Hes not pressurising me.

Fans watching on at home were impressed with the reality star, rushing to Twitter to praise her for speaking out.

So, so good to listen to @katelawler openly talk about not wanting children, one posted. Having children is a choice, it is not compulsory. Its all about respect. Im 31 now and have known since I was about 19 that I didnt want any of my own.

Its totally fine to just say you dont want kids or couldnt have children and leave it at that. You dont have to explain yourself to anyone even if they do ask for you to elaborate you dont have to, another suggested. Its not taboo and you arent weird for not wanting kids #LooseWomen.
