Cole Sprouse has gone and given us all the ultimate throwback on the 25th anniversary of Friends.

The 27-year-old, who played Ross Gellers son Ben in the much loved sit-com, celebrated the big day by hanging out with his old pal Hugsy.

And we have all the feels.

Taking to Instagram, the official account for the show shared an endearing snap of the actor perched on the iconic Friends sofa next to the penguin toy.

In the caption they wrote: The One Where Ben Grew Up. @colesprouse #FRIENDS25, and lets just say, fans were so not ready.

After making several appearances in the series, the character seemingly disappeared alongside his two mothers Carol and Susan.

Talking about why he thinks the trio were written out of the script, Cole – who now stars as Jughead in CBS Riverdale – told fans: Critics would agree that Ross was never really the most present father, and so it doesnt surprise me too much.

The actor was cast as Ben at the age of eight, and while he would normally star alongside his twin brother Dylan, the youngster took up the opportunity on his own.

He added during an undercover Reddit Q&A: Honestly, our appearance as the same character was sort of dependent on how much screen time we had.

In Friends, for example, my role was not too present. They only really needed to hire one twin, because both of us were incredibly expensive.

While the cast and crew alike celebrate the show, it seems theyre not up for a reboot as bosses claimed it wouldnt beat the original.

More: Friends (TV show)

We will not be doing a reunion show, we will not be doing a reboot, Marta Kauffman said at Tribeca TV Festival: The show was about that time in life when friends are your family.
