Poor Ellen DeGeneres should have called in sick as she revealed she injured her neck and couldnt turn her head.

Hugs for Ellen.

The daytime telly host appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week on a pair of crutches before throwing the aids away and admitting she did hurt her neck.

But has no dang idea how she managed to do it.

I felt like there was a rod going down my back and I thought, “Well, if I just ignore it, it would go away,” like a toothache or global warming, she said on yesterdays show.

The host then asked her audience if they wanted to know how she hurt her neck: So do I. I have no idea.

Teasing she spent the morning watching tennis and then the afternoon bird watching and then at night we did the hula-hooping on our necks, the actor admitted nothing about her was straight after visiting her chiropractor.

In a reality check for most of us, Ellen went on to point out how we take our bodies for granted.

Most of us are doing things that are bad for our bodies. Were always looking down at our phones, so we sit too much, she said.

We dont realise, though, how fragile our bodies are.

Well, thanks Ellen, now we do.

She added: Our body is like a string of Christmas lights and one light goes out, the whole string goes out and it gets into a tiny, crazy knot in the back of your head that you cant untangle and youre in so much pain that you just want to get lit.

Still, the presenter was on the mend, as she said she was loosening up as the day goes on, to the high-pitched cheers of the audience.

Keeping a sense of humour about the whole thing, Ellen took to Twitter after the show as she wrote: A pain in the neck is a real pain in the neck.
