Old timers not happy with Priyankas new team

LUCKNOW: Aimed to bring about order in the politically-crucial Uttar Pradesh and take partys Mission 2022 forward, Congress decision to include outsiders in crucial teams has added to the existing chaos.
Veterans feel that loyalists have not got their due, with senior leaders like former Varanasi MP Rajesh Mishra and former MLC Siraj Mehdi already coming out in open.
Mishra, who was inducted as member of the advisory council to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, has declined to become an adviser to the Congress general secretary, stating that he was not in a position to advise her.
Mehdi tendered his resignation to party Chief Sonia Gandhi, saying not a single Shia Muslim was taken in the new team, while both the Yogi and Modi governments have given a place to them.
On Tuesday, member, UP Congress disciplinary committee and former MLA Vinod Chaudhury resigned from post on Tuesday. “I have written to party president Sonia Gandhi ji and apprised her that I feel disillusioned and out of place in the new set up. However, I will continue to work as congressman,” he stated.
Associated with the congress for almost four decades, Chaudhury was the only congressman to win the election in Lucknow in 1989. He has been the head of partys OBC cell for seven years.
Sources said about 20% names in the list released by All India Congress Committee have created a divide in the party. Take the example of the working group on strategy and planning — three of the eight-member committee comprises turncoats including former SP minister Raj Kishore Singh and ex-BSP members R K Chaudhury and Brijlal Khabri who had recently joined the party.
