HIV+ couple sell 25-day-old boy for Rs 1.1L

TRICHY: Driven to the wall by debt, an HIV-positive couple sold their 25-day-old boy to another couple who had lost their 30-year-old son in a road accident at Manapparai in Trichy recently.
A woman hospital worker brokered the deal between them. The issue came to light after the baby was admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Trichy for difficulties in breathing on Monday. Since the boy looked weak, the doctor at the hospital asked the mother to breastfeed the baby.
