Mollie King has finally spoken out about those rumours circling her and Strictly partner AJ Pritchard – saying she doesn’t want a romantic relationship with him.

The Saturdays singer has sparked rumours she’s got a soft spot for AJ due to their onscreen chemistry on the show – but has said that they’re just ‘really close friends now’ – and that romance rumours were just part of being on the show.

I am single. There’s always going to be rumours on Strictly, that’s inevitable,’ Mollie told The Sun.

‘We have to be so comfortable with each other because we spend so much time together. AJ and I are physically very close all day and that’s such a huge part of the dancing.’

She went on: ‘We don’t even think about it. We’re really close friends now.’

While she’s made it very clear she’s not interested in taking things further with the 22-year-old choreographer, Mollie went on to admit she would like to find Mr Right one day.

‘I don’t feel like I need somebody, but I obviously would love somebody. I love being in love. I literally love being in love,’ she explained.

‘I’m so romantic. I’m such a girly girl.’

And while she may not have found love on the show, it has had other advantages for the 30-year-old – like helping her tone up and achieve some of those physical goals.

‘There are bits that I would like to…OK, pretty much every part of my body I’d like to improve,’ Mollie insisted. ‘I would love to do more sport to get fit. I need to work on my obliques to try and nip in my tummy.

‘But I do think you get to a point where you have to accept yourself and say: ‘This is my figure, and I could work on it, but I’m never going to drastically change it.’

Mollie and AJ will take to the floor with a foxtrot when the latest instalment of Strictly kicks off on BBC One on Saturday night at 6.50pm.
