Will Ferrell has upped his game from lad comedy star to serious dancer.

Strictly‘s Shirley Ballas gave the actor a lesson in the Rumba recently, and taught naysayer Ferrell the ‘sensual’ Afro-Cuban dance in no time at all.

‘I love how I’m the only one that has to do this!’ Will quipped on The Graham Norton Show as Shirley dragged the Daddy’s Home 2 star up in front of the studio audience.

What followed was a masterclass in smooth, sensual dancing.

Will’s impressive moves were encouraged after the actor confessed he could ‘already tell’ Shirley didn’t ‘believe’ in his ability to dance.

‘Rumba is a sensual dance, a dance of love,’ Shirley explained before leading Will into the two-step formation.

‘How about if you could just go: “Side, replace, close!”, Shirley instructed as the stars began dancing to Enrique Iglesias song Hero together.

And viewers couldn’t believe how Will danced with such panache.

The usually harsh judge has faced criticism this series for her no-nonsense marking, and for rewarding professional dancers with unfairly high marks.

Perhaps the veteran dancer took a shine to amateur Will though – she placed both her hands in his face and leaned in almost for a kiss in the closing moments of the romantic dance.

This current series of Strictly is Shirley’s first on the panel of judges, she replaced the BBC talent show veteran Len Goodman as head judge.
