Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi show Altered Carbon might ask big questions about humanity’s role in a futurist dystopia, but there’s also a generous amount of kickass action.
Based on the book by Richard K. Morgan, Altered Carbon is set 300 years in the future where society is changed by a new technology which allows consciousness to be digitised – meaning death is no longer permanent.
Along with Blade Runner-inspired visuals, the show has some excellent action sequences – including one standout in an anti-gravity arena.
Speaking about the action sequences in the clip, star Joel Kinnaman says: ‘It’s incredibly raw. It was a pleasure to get to dive in headfirst.

‘The low-g sequence was about grabbing them and slamming them into your fist.’
