I have fallen so hard and fast on Mayfield. Two weeks ago I would have argued he should be a top five pick, but I’m having serious reservations right now. First, Mayfield came out and said his two favorite beers are Dos Equis and Michelob.
That was bad enough, but now he’s rocking an awful headband. I’m out so hard on Mayfield. He went from being one of the best players in the draft for me to being a guy I might have to take completely off of my board. It just seems way too risky to have a guy whose favorite beer isn’t Miller Lite and wears headbands. So many red flags.
I wish I could still be high on him. He’s a solid player, but there’s just too much that gives me caution going forward. It was a fun ride, but I’m moving on.
