The Milwaukee, Wisconsin police department released footage from the night they tackled and tased NBA player Sterling Brown — and the video is pretty unbelievable.

They tase Brown, who plays shooting guard for the Milwaukee Bucks, and tackle him to the ground because he had his hand in his pocket. The video was captured by an officers body cam and lasts just over 30 minutes.

They start to tase him around the 8:00 mark.

The incident took place on Jan. 26 in the parking lot of a Walgreens drugstore late at night. Police claim he was acting suspiciously and approached police menacingly, so they used force to apprehend him in an effort to subdue any potential threat he posed. They wrote him a ticket but later dropped all charges, and police issued a formal an apology on Wednesday.

Milwaukee police chief Alfonso Morales claimed “members acted inappropriately” and he is “sorry this incident escalated to this level.”

Shortly thereafter, Sterling Brown released his own statement, calling the incident “wrong” and connecting it back to “the common denominator” of racism and police misuse of force in the black community.
