Love Island viewers were suddenly bombarded with random animal facts from Jack Fincham, and remarkably, theyre not wrong either.

Speaking to the group, Jack threw open the doors for the other Islanders to think of a subject and hell knock out a random fact about it.

Given the topic of flamingos, Jack said: Flamingos are actually white, its what they eat in the water what makes their feathers pink.

So is he right? Sort of.

Flamingos are actually born with grey feathers and are often sighted over salt lakes on the hunt for shrimp in the water.

Their diet of brine shrimp has an organic compound known as beta carotene, which is the key responsible for turning their feathers into a vibrant pink colour.

Jacks second pearl of wisdom was around polar bears, saying: Polar bear? Their fur is see-through. Its not white. Im sorry, am I super intelligent?

You know what, he might just be.

Polar bears have transparent fur, with the surrounding light and climate affecting their colour.

Their hair is also hollow meaning it absorbs light, which considering their Arctic surroundings, turns their fur into a white colour.

Basically viewers couldnt believe they were learning while watching Love Island.

Jack's not wrong. Polar Bear fur is a lot like fibre optic cables, hollow and translucent. The warmer the climate they're in the more likely they are to get algae growing inside the hair tubes, making the bear green #Jacksanimalfacts #loveisland
