Katherine Ryan has revealed that Jonathan Ross refused to do the new series of Roast Battle without knowing he was being paid the same as her.
The TV presenter joins Katherine and Jimmy Carr on the panel for the new series of the harsh battle of wits after replacing Russell Brand from series one.
But in light of the gender pay gap remaining a strong conversation within the UK industry, Jonathan took extra steps to make sure that everything was equal for his co-star.
In an interview clip in the paper, posted on Twitter by Caitlin Moran, Katherine said of her new co-star: When Jonathan joined for the second series he approached me and said, “How much are you getting paid for this, because I wont do it if Im earning more than you”.

Thats the first time a man has ever said this. He took the initiative and I really appreciate it.
The move has been praised by people online as a bold move for the high-flying TV personality.
Numerous British stars have come forward with their own tales of how they have been underpaid by their male counterparts since the BBC released their annual payments and revealed that the overwhelming majority of the top ten earners
This includes a £50k pay gap between The One Shows Alex Jones and co-presenter Matt Baker and Sandi Toksvig revealing she is paid only 40% of Stephen Frys wage for the same job on QI.
