A Great British Bake Off boss has revealed that contestants worry Noel Fielding will distract them as they whip up their culinary creations.

Series director Jeanette Goulbourn has claimed the bakers have been panicking over the work stations theyre allocated in case The Mighty Boosh comedian takes their eyes off the ball.

Some hate being at the front or the back; they have this theory that if theyre middle-back, Noel is more likely to come and distract them. But theyll all be on every bench at some point, she told Broadcast Now.

In-between scenes, Noel is often seen frolicking about the kitchen and causing mayhem and breaking eggs while contestants are under mountains of pressure to bake the best cakes of their lives.

And its not just the bakers who are concerned about Noel and his wacky shirts diverting attentions, as viewers on Twitter have picked up on it too.

One person observed: Having Noel wittering in your ear when concentrating must be so fucking annoying.

How anyones not punched Noel on the nose for his CONSTANT hovering during the challenge is beyond me… ranted another.

But lets not forget all the times hes been a shoulder to cry on for the stressed out cooks.

Remember earlier this week when he comforted Kim-Joy when she broke down in tears over the technical challenge? It was adorable.

This years Bake Off final is less than a week now, and and will see Ruby Bhogal, Rahul Mandal and Kim-Joy battle it out for the top spot.

On top of the potential Noel interruptions, theyll be faced with a further obstacle too as its been reported that theyll be whipping up a storm outside of the infamous marquee for the first time in the shows eight year history.

The Great British Bake Off continues on Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
