The Big Brother housemates were left emotional when they were told that Lewis Flanagan was removed for the house.

Lewis F was removed from the house after making a remark reportedly about Auschwitz

On Friday, Lewis was ejected from the Elstree compound after using inappropriate language, although bosses insisted the incident would never make it to air.

In a preview for Sunday nights episode, the remaining housemates were seated in the dining area as Big Brother made the announcement.

This is Big Brother. Housemates Lewis has been removed from the Big Brother house and will not be returning, the voice said.

Cameron and Brooke were embraced by fellow housemates being the closest to Lewis F as the others muttered a chorus of oh my god, wow, and I cant believe that just happened.

According to The Sun, a Big Brother insider claimed the comment was a slip of the tongue.

They said: Lewis was talking to Cameron and told him, “When we get out of here, well sort you out with some Auschwitz.”

He said he was supposed to say outfits. Hes told people it was a slip of the tongue and he didnt know why he said it.

Big Brother will air the moment Lewis left the house, and he has since apologised for his words, but insisted he wasnt ashamed.

He said: I would say Im devastated. I didnt mean to offend anyone, it was a slip of the tongue. I never once tried to offend anyone or hurt anyones feelings. Its unacceptable.

In the final series of Celebrity Big Brother, Rodrigo Alves was also removed from the house and the reason not fully explained.

Lewis is the second housemate to be removed from the house this series – just a day into the series, Ellis Hillon was kicked out after two offensive tweets in which the 19-year-old (then 15) used racial slurs were discovered.

Last night, Tomasz Wania was evicted from the Big Brother house, leaving Akeem, Brooke, Cameron, Cian, Sian and Zoe in the running for the win.

Big Brother returns Sunday night at 10.30pm on Channel 5.
