The third episode of Sir David Attenboroughs five-part series airs tonight and there is set to be more tough-to-watch moments.

So far viewers have seen the struggles of David the chimpanzee trying to control his kingdom, as well as baby penguins struggling to survive in harsh conditions.

The show has been four years in the making follow the lives of the five animals – lions, chimpanzees, hunting dogs, emperor penguins and tigers.

It is the latest BBC series to be fronted by Sir David Attenborough, who will be involved in another new nature show called Our Planet which comes out on Netflix in 2019.

When is Dynasties on TV?

The third episode of Dynasties will air on BBC One at 8pm on Sunday 25 December.

Which animal will be featured this week?

This weeks episode will focus on lions and will see the crew follow a lion pride in the Masai Mara national reserve which is in Narok County, Kenya.

It will see two adult females protecting their cubs from other prides and herds of buffalo.

The animals will also encounter humans and fend off attacks from hyenas.
