Greg James fulfilled a viral dream after being faced with Jill Hatton, who became an online sensation following her appearance on This Morning.

Jill, 76, previously became beloved viral gold after appearing on the show in March this year, after her three daughters planned a Mothers Day surprise which didnt go exactly as planned.

Along with winning a special meal and a TV via Alison Hammond, Ainsley Harriott descended upon Jills home with a frying pan to a terrified response – spawning the Why hello, Jill catchphrase.

Months after her first appearance, Jill returned to the show with daughter Holly from France to discuss the moment.

I could just about take it all in, Jill said. But its almost as though it didnt happen. But Id like to say thank you very much for all you did.

Asked if she was surprised by the reaction, Jill said: Absolutely staggered. I had no idea at all.

Greg James, who pushed the viral hit on BBC Radio One, was even beamed from his home in Oxfordshire to be given a reward for his dedication – performing why hello Jill to the woman herself.

My year is complete. Im done, Ive peaked, Greg said. Thats the end, this is the best. Jill you a star of Radio One, of This Morning, but also youre a viral sensation.

Asked if people shout it to her in the street by Greg, Jill said: They did for a long time afterwards.
