Samira Mighty has brushed off claims from Love Island fans that she was treated differently from the other islanders.

Samira and her now ex-boyfriend Frankie Foster spent time in the Hideaway in this years series, but the scenes never made it to air.

When couples enter the Hideaway – a bedroom separate from the main villa where serious couples can go for some alone time – it is usually put into the main show.

Viewers were unhappy to learn the romantic scenes had been cut, but Samira has said she understands why.

Some people felt like my race meant I was treated differently – but to be honest its over now, and if ITV had a problem they wouldnt have put me on the show, she said in a blog for Huffington Post.

When they cut me and Frankie in the hideaway, I think that isnt necessarily as interesting as George kicking off at Josh. Its a TV show, and theres only 24 hours in a day, which they have to get down to one.

She also left the show early after Frankie was voted out, and the reality TV star says that she doesnt regret walking away from the villa.

Samira explained: It was perfect for me and I wouldnt have done it any other way. I was in there for six weeks, and for me, two more weeks wasnt going to do anything. Id got what I went in for, so I left.

She also praised the show for opening so many doors for me and added that wants to continue working on her singing and move into presenting.

Of the Hideaway scenes, ITV told Metro.co.uk: We dont necessarily show every moment in the hideaway owing to the constraints of it only being a one hour show.
