The Inbetweeners fans have rallied around Blake Harrison after he seemed to address the overwhelming backlash surrounding the New Years Day disaster which was Fwends Reunited.
On January 1, Channel 4 aired a special programme celebrating 10 years of the comedy juggernaut, and it was be a gross understatement to say there were high hopes.
Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison and James Buckley – who starred as Will McKenzie, Simon Cooper, Neil Sutherland and Jay Cartwright respectively – reunited to mark 10 years since The Inbetweeners debuted on E4, but it didnt quite go to plan.
The two-hour show was described as the worst thing to happen to 2019 one day into the New Year after livid fans thought they were getting a brand new episode.
Most critics put it down to Jimmy Carr presenting over Greg Davies, who starred as Wills arch-nemesis and teacher Mr Gilbert, while there were hundreds asking: Where was Emily Atack?

(Shed been dropped the day before, and still doesnt know why).
Following the onslaught of criticism on social media, Blake has since tweeted: So, 2019 off to a good start.
However, fans have assured the fault was never with the cast.
Should of just been an episode with just you 4 talking about the experience of the inbetweeners. No need for Jimmy Carr and no need for the random awards.

Don't think anyone blames you or the other boys. The format of the show was terrible and it didn't help having Jimmy Carr talking over you guys at every opportunity. No one there seemed comfortable with how it was going and I don't blame you.

You 4 & your colleagues were great, it was the format, not you guys

His co-star James was a little more forthcoming in a post which, frankly, made us a little sad.
He wrote: Feeling pretty hated right now. Im sorry to anyone who feels let down with last nights show.
Im especially upset as it really is the fans that made the inbetweeners a success, it certainly wasnt me.
I might do an explanation video on my YT, or might just leave it & move on #sorry.
Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited is available to stream on All 4 now.
