Emmerdale fans have been left feeling deeply emotional as Jane Cox filmed some final voiceover scenes to lay her desd character Lisa Dingle to rest after more than two decades. After a chaotic funeral which involved laughter, pig racing and boozing – Lisa would be proud – various members of the family were left alone with their thoughts.

Lisa had left behind letters for various of her relatives and as the characters tearfully read her parting words of wisdom, Lisas voice could be heard reciting the letters as viewers watched.

She described her pride in Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and promised her that if there is a Heaven, then she will look after Grace for her until she joins them. She also told her how well suited she and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) are.

She thanked Charity (Emma Atkins) for organising her funeral and beautiful eulogy and urged her to be happy while she shared a final prank with Marlon (Mark Charnock) by admitting she had fooled him with her recipe for rabbit stew.

She also managed to reunite Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Debbie(Charley Webb) by branding them both as stubborn as each other and urging them to make things up as they dont have as much time left as they think.

This gave them both food for thought and wordlessly, they embraced each other, determined to move forward from the messiness of the last year.
