Ryan Hawley is leaving Emmerdale after five years playing fan favourite Robert Sugden, according to reports.
According to The Sun, the actor has decided to take a break from the show to try other projects
He will leave later this year, but fans can expect to see him on screen right up until the end of the year. He will be sorely missed, their source added.
Joining the show in 2014, Ryan has seen character Robert through a number of difficult and heartwarming storylines.
Most notably, Robert was part of the complicated relationship Robron with Aaron Dingle, which ended happily with the pair getting married.
However, its been far from rosy for the character to get to that point, having struggled with his sexuality and even accidentally killing his sister-in-law Katie when she discovered his affair.

At the time, he was married to Chrissy White, and after their split, an illicit one-night stand with former flame Rebecca White (Chrissys sister) resulted in him having a son.
Over the course of the past five years, Ryan has earned a number of awards for his portrayal.
Winning Best Newcomer at the Inside Soap Awards in 2015, hes since bagged two Best Actor gongs at the TV Choice and Tric Awards.
His Robron storyline earned him Best Partnership with co-star Danny Miller, who plays Aaron, at the Inside Soap Awards in 2016.
Ryan and his co-stars are yet to publicly comment on his leaving.
