A tick embedded itself in a construction workers eye – and gave a sickening pop after being tweezed off by an optometrist.
Chris Prater, from Floyd County in Kentucky, felt a pain in his eye after finishing work with the electric firm where he works last week.
Prater is fastidious about spraying himself to ward off ticks on his skin, and didnt imagine one of the bugs could have lodged itself in his eye.
But after repeated attempts to remove the spot by flushing it with water failed, Prater was forced to seek professional help.
He told WYMT: The thing of it is, I really didnt want to go to the doctor. I figured if it was something it would come out on its own.
When the doctor finally comes in, he was looking at it. He said, “I know whats in your eye.”

He said, “Its a tick.” Thats when I got scared a little bit.

I leaned around and looked at him and I asked him if he was joking and he said, “No, you have a deer tick or some type of tick.”
It was very little.
Praters eye was numbed by the optometrist, before he used a set of tweezers to pull the insect out.
