Star Trek: Picard has officially finished filming meaning were inching ever closer to seeing Patrick Stewart return to the franchise as Jean-Luc Picard.
According to screenwriter Michael Chabon, the CBS series wrapped things up yesterday and all that is left to do is months of post-production.
Thats a shooting wrap on Season One of #startrekpicard, Michael wrote on Instagram. There have been so many incredible moments, so many life and career high points, but for a 45-plus-year #startrek fan, visiting the sacred Gorn-haunted grounds of #Arena was a peak.

Visual effects supervisor Ante Dekovic also shared the joyous news, confirming: Thats a wrap on Star Trek: Picard!!! At least the filming part.
All is left, months of post-production. Thanks @startrekcbs @michael.chabon, Akiva, @alexkurtzmanofficial and of course @sirpatstew for the experience.
Also a big thank you to everybody who helped us on set with the VFX. Even that for most of the time, it was hard to imagine or understand the things that we do.

CBS released the first trailer for Star Trek: Picard back in May, giving fans a sneaky glimpse at Patrick as an ominous voice questions why he left Starfleet.
The voice says: 15 years ago today, you led us out of the darkness. You commanded the greatest rescue armada in history, then the unimaginable.
What did that cost you? Your faith. Your faith in us. Your faith in yourself. Tell us, why did you leave Starfleet Admiral?

The new series picks up 18 years after the events of Nemesis, where Picard has left Starfleet to live out life on his famous vineyard surrounded by peace, grapes and wine.

Speaking of his characters revival, Patrick said: He may not be a captain anymore. He may not be the Jean-Luc you recognise and know so well. It may be a very different individual, someone who has been changed by his experiences.
He added: It will be something, I guarantee it, something very, very different.
