Nicole Scherzinger ended up having an awkward moment on Australias Got Talent, thanks to a pretty savage dig about her former girl group The Pussycat Dolls.

Nicole was joined by guest judge Hans, who has also appeared on Americas Got Talent, in the latest episode.

He made a cheeky joke about Nicole not knowing the names of the other members of the group.

While Scherzy laughed it off (she was on camera after all), it she seemed to feel the awkwardness after the joke just as much as viewers.

Hans, dressed in a fabulous outfit, performed Pussycat Dolls classic Dont Cha before taking his place at the judges table with Nicole.

Referring to ex-Pussycat Dolls Carmit Bachar and Melody Thornton, Hans asked her: Was I at least as good as Carmit or Melody? Or one of those other people you dont remember the names of?

The X Factor judge didnt reply and tried to shrug off the mischievous barb with a laugh before presenter Ricki-Lee moved the show on.

The Pussycat Dolls were active from 1995, starting out as a dance troupe in the 90s then forming a band in 2003 until 2010.

Australias Got Talent has been an emotional journey for Nicole, with a rapper and a didgeridoo player reducing her to tears in the audition stages.

Now its semi-finals week and Hans joked he had been sent over by Simon Cowell to keep an eye on judges Nicole, Shane Jacobson, Lucy Durack and Mani Feildel.

Singer Jennifer Anderson caught Hans eye in semi-final, prompting Hans to hand out his golden buzzer and send her straight through to that all important final.

Australias Got Talent airs on Seven Network in Australia.
