Chris Ramsey is clearly excited for his Strictly Come Dancing debut – so much so, that his poor wife Rosie has suffered the consequences!

The comedian and his wife Rosie, who together host podcast Sh*gged, Married, Annoyed, were getting into the Strictly spirit at a wedding when disaster struck.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk ahead of his debut, Chris spoke of using his wife of five years to help out with learning the lifts – but while he admitted hed already started, Chris added it didnt always work out the best.

He told us: We did it at a wedding just before I got announced, and I dropped her on her back. Flat on her back, in the middle of a wedding.

She tried to do a backdrop, and we do one in the first number, but she literally banged her head off the floor.

Everyone at the wedding was like “what the hells got into these two?” We were monopolising the wedding!

Sooo…we guess good luck to the pro whos getting him?!

Rosie is a self-confessed megafan of the series, joking on their podcast that shed be up for fake-tanning her hubby to get him ready on the dancefloor.

But Chris reckons that could go against him once competition time comes.

He explained: It just occured to me the other day, Im at a disadvantage because I get judged by the judges on the night and then Ill get a phone call off her going “well I was watching, and your face was a disgrace!”

I do that [screw my face up] when I dance! She literally said to us the other day “sort your face out”. Thats my wifes pointer for us.

Im dreading getting judged by her as well. I might even invest in some paddles when I walk through the door!

But Chris admits that part of the reason he signed up for the show was to give him time with his family that he misses out on travelling the country on tour.

That was one of the main things that made me really up for doing the show, he said. Ive got a three-and-a-half year old kid [son, Robin], do you know what I mean? So… yeah, to get to train up there is going to be amazing.

Some poor dancer is going to come up to South Shields! I might meet them at Newcastle and travel to Newcastle. I dont want them having to go to South Shields. Theres not much for them.

Who Chris will be partnered up with will be announced tonight on BBC One, with viewers getting their first look at how the celebs fare as dancers.

However, the launch show will now be bittersweet, as it will be the only appearance of Jamie Laing, who had to quit the competition on Thursday after getting injured in rehearsals.
