Top Boy makes its return this week, six years after the conclusion of the second season.

The show had an initial run of two seasons before it was shelved by Channel 4 in 2013, but since then Canadian rapper Drake has played a key role in ensuring the show got a picked up for a new season.

In the new episodes Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson will return in the leading roles of Dushane and Sully.

They will also be joined by new members of the cast, such as Simbi Ajokawo, David Omoregie and Michael Ward.

Why is Top Boy season three called season one?

The first two seasons of Top Boy were originally broadcast on Channel 4 in 2011 and 2013.

Both seasons are now available to watch on Netflix, but they have been renamed as Top Boy: Summerhouse, which refers to the housing estate in Hackney where the series is set.

This means that even though the next Top Boy episodes form the third season of the show, they will be displayed as season one.

The name change is likely because Netflix wants to brand it as a completely new series, because of the new cast members and new crew working on the series.

Speaking at the season premiere, Drake said: I think September 13th is a really big UK heritage moment that you should be proud of.

You all made it happen, I just wanted it to happen.
