7 Holby City spoilers: Darla goes into labour early – but wheres Ric?

Its all about babies in tonights Holby City, when Rics granddaughter Darla (Naomi Katiyo) dramatically goes into early labour. When Darla needs him the most, Ric (Hugh Quarshie) – whose behaviour is causing growing concern – is nowhere to be seen. Wholl be on hand to help Darla?

Meanwhile, Essie (Kaye Wragg) has baby worries of her own when Isla becomes sick. Shes seriously ill and needs surgery – but when her medical records are needed, Essie has a problem. Is her secret about to be found out? And Chloe (Amy Lennox) plans a trip to the country to forget about Evan, but she cant help feeling jumpy. Is he watching her? Here are all the spoilers to look out for.

1. Ric is continuing to make mistakes, and Cameron (Nic Jackman) is concerned enough to talk to Xavier (Marcus Griffiths) about it. But with Ric insisting that hes just under stress because of Darla and work, Xavier isnt keen to get involved. Then Cameron notices that Ric may be about to make a mistake that could threaten his career and badly harm a patient. Can he be stopped in time?

2. When Isla is violently sick, Essie rushes her to Keller where Sacha (Bob Barrett) diagnoses a twisted bowel. The baby needs emergency surgery, but when Sacha asks Essie to locate her adoption papers for her medical history, Essie is put on the spot – because of course she has no papers. How can she consent to surgery for a child who isnt legally her responsibility?

3. Cameron gives Chloe the key to Bernies cottage so she can get away for a few days to recover from the traumas inflicted by Evan. Evan himself seems to be abiding by a court order and keeping away from the hospital and from Chloe – but she has a feeling hes not quite out of her life yet and keeps thinking she sees him in the hospital. Is she imagining things, or is Evil Evan still around?

4. Dom (David Ames) is worried about a patients daughter when he spots bruising on her arms, and thinks shes being abused. Hes determined to find out the truth.

5. A desperate Essie is forced to take Sacha into her confidence about how Isla came into her care. Will Sacha agree to cover for her, or will his duty to his patient mean he has to tell the authorities that Isla isnt Essies legal responsibility?

6. When a rare case presents itself in Darwin, Kian (Ramin Karimloo), Nicky (Belinda Owusu) and Chloe all have to work together. With Chloe constantly spooked by thoughts of Evan, can she maintain her focus when the situation gets even more complicated?
