Hollyoaks spoilers: Joel Dexters life changes forever

Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) has been faced with quite the dilemma in Hollyoaks, as — over the past couple of months — hes struggled to choose between his devotion to God and his love for Goldie McQueen (Chelsee Healey), and this struggle is set to continue in the coming episodes, as he prepares for some life-changing news.

Several months back, Joel came to the realisation that he was developing feelings for Goldie. Due to him training to become a priest, he resisted these feelings, but soon the chemistry was simply too hard to ignore, and thus he admitted to Goldie how he truly felt. Their romance was later rumbled by a fuming Breda (Moya Brady), but Joel managed to convince the villainous granny to keep shtum by ensuring her that he wouldnt tell a soul about her attacking him with a bible.

In the coming episodes, Joel and Goldie have the house to themselves but — in spite of his attempts to enjoy his time with his girlfriend — Joels mind is elsewhere, as hes waiting on a life-changing phone call.

He opens up to Goldie about whats on his mind, telling her that hes planning to join the Church of England and become a vicar instead. However, Breda finds out about what hes up to — and is furious.

Later in the week, Joel tells Goldie that his faith will take quite a while to get sorted out — but she takes his words the wrong way.
