NEW DELHI: A fuming Sanjay Raut lashed out at Ajit Pawar on Saturday who took oath as the deputy chief minister in Maharashtra government with Devendra Fadnavis at the helm.
"Sharad Pawar saheb has nothing to do with this, Ajit Pawar has backstabbed the people of Maharashtra," Raut told reporters shortly after the oath-taking ceremony.
Untill yesterday, Shiv Sena was holding discussions with NCP and the Congress to form a government in Maharashtra after assembly elections resulted in a hung assembly and led to the imposition of President's rule in the state.
On Saturday morning, BJP left everyone, including its former ally Shiv Sena, stunned when its leader Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the chief minister with Ajit Pawar as his deputy.
Raut targeted Ajit Pawar accusing him of betrayal and said that he (Ajit Pawar) acted alone.
