Jack and Joel have become the latest casualty of The X Factor, during the first part of the show’s George Michael weekend.
The duo – who were voted in as the Groups wild card – lost out after failing to nab enough public votes with their rendition of Wham!’s final chart-topper The Edge Of Heaven.
Jack said afterwards: ‘It’s the one week where we love the song and I said to Dermot ‘We’re going on this one’.
‘We’ve had the best time, everybody has been phenomenal.’
Joel added: ‘We’re still discovering who we are as artists and we’ve had the best journey.’
Saturday’s show also saw Kevin Davy White named show winner for the second week in a row, having also won the public vote last Sunday night.
Having already won last week’s Prize Fight, he’ll compete for a second prize – the chance to perform with Little Mix – with the winning act in Sunday night’s show.
