EastEnders spoilers: Bobby Beale converts to Islam in positive new story

Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) is set to find acceptance and comfort in the Islam faith in an upcoming EastEnders storyline that will explore the positive sides of religion. As Bobby realises he wants to explore life as a Muslim to help him find peace with his dark past and the demons he is battling.

EastEnders is working with the Muslim Youth Helpline on the storyline involving Bobby. In tonights episode viewers saw Bobby meet his friend, Imran, who he met whilst at a Young Offenders Institute. In the coming weeks viewers will see Bobby explore his new faith and how it positively affects him; offering Bobby support and helping him find peace with past events.

As Bobby continues to settle into life back in Walford, albeit facing many challenges from his past, Bobby finds much support and encouragement from many close by.

Zohra Khaku, Director of the Muslim Youth Helpline commented on the storyline: The Muslim Youth Helpline have been providing feedback on Bobbys storyline with the BBC EastEnders team. In a time where young British Muslims see their faith overwhelmingly represented in a negative way, it is heartening to see Islam portrayed as a positive influence in Bobbys life.
